Cato Networks Strengthens Cloud Security Portfolio by Acquiring Aim Security for Advanced AI Security

In a move that underscores the growing importance of securing AI (artificial intelligence) technologies in enterprise environments, Cato Networks has announced its first-ever acquisition- Aim Security, a Tel Aviv–based startup specializing in GenAI (generative AI) security. 

This latest deal positions Cato at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry landscape where AI is integral to defense strategies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed to the public.

Founded in 2022 by cybersecurity veterans Adir Gruss and Matan Getz, Aim Security provides a holistic AI (GenAI) security platform, helping enterprises safely adopt generative AI tools by securing public and internal AI applications and guardrailing risky AI interactions. The startup's security platform includes features like AI-Firewall (runtime protection), AI-Security Posture Management (AI-SPM), and discovery of shadow AI usage, covering the full AI interaction lifecycle. In 2024, Aim emerged from stealth mode with financial backing from leading venture firms and cybersecurity veterans. 

By bringing Aim Security under its corporate roof, Cato Networks strengthens its leadership in the SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) framework while expanding into AI-native security. The integration of Aim’s AI threat protection capabilities into Cato’s global platform will allow enterprises to secure both networking and AI workloads in a unified architecture and also manage AI usage risks across shadow IT, compliance, and data leakage.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, Cato Networks pioneered the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) model, delivering a unified, cloud-native platform that integrates SD-WAN, security (e.g., next-gen firewall, CASB, MDR), and a global backbone network. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Cato, expanding its reach from networking and security into the rapidly growing field of AI threat protection.
