Atlassian Boosts Developers Experience by Acquiring Developer Insights Leader, DX

Atlassian, the Sydney-based leader in team collaboration and productivity software, has announced the acquisition of DX, a U.S.-based developer insights and productivity platform, in a deal valued at approximately $1 billion in cash and restricted stock, including DX’s cash balance, according to Reuters.

The acquisition strengthens Atlassian’s developer-focused offerings by integrating DX’s advanced analytics capabilities into its product suite. This move will give software teams deeper visibility into their workflows, enabling them to identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and collaborate more effectively. 

Atlassian has been on a buying spree as it broadens its portfolio and deepens its push into AI-driven productivity. Earlier this month, the company acquired The Browser Company, the company behind the Arc and Dia browsers that use artificial intelligence to streamline web workflows, in a deal valued at $610 million. The move underscored Atlassian’s intent to expand beyond its core collaboration and project management tools, tapping into next-generation browsing experiences that blend AI assistance with developer-friendly environments.

Founded in 2021 by Abi Noda and Greyson Junggren, DX has quickly established itself as a market leader in developer experience and productivity platforms. Headquartered in San Francisco, with an additional office in Salt Lake City, the company provides tools that collect, analyze, and visualize data across the entire software development lifecycle.
