Salesforce has announced the general availability of Agentforce Help Agent and the Agentforce Customer Service Portal, introducing a pay-per-resolution pricing model that shifts enterprise AI pricing away from traditional seat-based subscriptions toward measurable business outcomes. Alongside the launch, the company also revealed a definitive agreement to acquire Fin, an AI-powered customer service platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The announcements represent Salesforce’s latest effort to expand its enterprise AI portfolio as organizations increasingly deploy autonomous AI agents to automate customer service operations while demanding clearer returns on AI investments.

Agentforce Enters General Availability

Agentforce Help Agent is designed to automate customer support by enabling AI agents to resolve routine service requests with minimal human intervention. Combined with the Agentforce Customer Service Portal, the platform allows organizations to deploy AI-powered support experiences integrated across Salesforce’s CRM ecosystem.
Unlike conventional enterprise software licensing, Salesforce’s new pay-per-resolution model charges customers based on successfully resolved support cases rather than the number of users or AI tokens consumed.
The approach reflects a broader shift in enterprise AI toward pricing models that directly measure business value instead of infrastructure usage.

Salesforce to Acquire Fin

Salesforce also announced a definitive agreement to acquire Fin, an AI customer service platform purpose-built for SMBs. The platform currently supports more than 30,000 businesses worldwide by enabling companies to deploy AI-powered customer support without extensive implementation or integration projects.
The acquisition is expected to close during the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
By combining Fin with Agentforce, Salesforce aims to offer a broader portfolio of AI customer service solutions, ranging from enterprise-grade autonomous agents to lightweight deployments tailored for growing businesses.

Expanding Global AI Investment

In addition to the product launch and acquisition, Salesforce announced a $1 billion investment in Switzerland to accelerate agentic AI innovation, infrastructure development, and workforce transformation.
The investment reflects the growing competition among global technology companies to establish AI infrastructure, research capabilities, and enterprise partnerships beyond the United States.

A New Approach to Enterprise AI Economics

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the announcement is Salesforce’s pricing strategy.
Enterprise AI platforms have largely been priced using user licenses or token consumption. Salesforce’s pay-per-resolution model instead aligns vendor revenue with successful customer outcomes, rewarding automation that resolves customer issues rather than simply generating AI interactions.
If successful, the model could influence how enterprise AI vendors commercialize autonomous agents, encouraging broader adoption of outcome-based pricing across the software industry.

Industry Perspective

The launch of Agentforce Help Agent highlights how competition in enterprise AI is shifting beyond foundation models toward complete business workflows.
As organizations move from AI assistants to autonomous agents, vendors are increasingly differentiating themselves through deployment speed, workflow automation, business outcomes, and integration capabilities rather than model performance alone.
The planned acquisition of Fin further strengthens Salesforce’s position across both enterprise and SMB markets, providing customers with a broader range of AI-powered service solutions while reinforcing the company’s long-term strategy around agentic AI.

Why It Matters

Salesforce’s latest announcements illustrate the next phase of enterprise AI adoption. Rather than focusing solely on model capabilities, software vendors are increasingly competing on measurable business value, simplified deployment, and autonomous workflows. Outcome-based pricing could become an important benchmark for how enterprise AI platforms are evaluated and purchased in the years ahead.
